WORLD INSANE

Dear Reader,

We are thrilled to be publishing our first ever issue, especially with these incredible artists and authors. We started World Insane to be a place for women and girls to share their experiences, imaginative stories and bold themes. Not all of the stories are about feminist issues, and not all of them even focus on female characters. While we do prioritize stories that do, we believe that women's stories shouldn't have to adhere to a specific expectation. When selecting works, we looked for stories that represented the diverse experiences and perspectives of women around the world, of all ages, and of all backgrounds, in addition to universal themes and messages.
We would also like to note that we are not a paying publication and are incredibly grateful to these featured artists who have trusted us to be a home for their stories. As a team of artists and writers, we understand the difficulties of getting compensation for your work, and are so appreciative of the community of artists who have given us their pieces not for compensation, but because they are passionate about their work and believe in our mission too.
Additionally, while this issue is free to read, as all of our issues will be upon publication, we do request you make a donation to our Organization of the Issue, the Malala Fund, upon reading. This supports our efforts and the voices of women and girls every where. We see education as the first step in achieving gender equality.
Now, get reading! We are immensely proud of the works in this issue and we hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
